Extensiv
Cloud WMS platform built for 3PL, e-commerce fulfillment, and omnichannel brands
Extensiv (formerly 3PL Central) is the dominant WMS platform for small-to-mid-size 3PL operations in North America. Their cloud WMS handles multi-client billing, inventory segregation, and order management for 3PLs serving e-commerce brands. The platform has extensive pre-built integrations with Shopify, Amazon, WooCommerce, and major shipping carriers. Recent acquisition of Ware2Go technology strengthens their fulfillment network capabilities.
Small-to-mid 3PL operations (under 500k orders/month) managing DTC e-commerce clients who need fast implementation and extensive carrier/channel integrations
Large 3PL operations with complex automation, multi-site network management, or clients requiring deep EDI compliance
Strengths
- Largest pre-built integration library in mid-market WMS
- Dominant in small 3PL segment — large reference base
- Fast implementation — live in weeks not months
- Strong e-commerce and marketplace connectivity
Weaknesses
- Not built for automation-heavy DC environments
- Limited support for large enterprise clients
- Multi-site management less mature than Körber or Manhattan
Practitioner analysis
Extensiv (formerly 3PL Central) has the largest small-3PL customer base in North America. Implementation is genuinely fast — 4–8 weeks for a standard 3PL deployment is realistic. Their pre-built integration library (750+) covers nearly every channel and carrier a small 3PL needs. The Ware2Go acquisition strengthened their network and fulfillment capabilities.
Extensiv is built for small-to-mid 3PL operations — operations processing under 500k orders/month per site. Above that, you'll hit performance and configuration limits. The platform handles e-commerce fulfillment well but is weaker for B2B wholesale or operations requiring complex EDI. Also: support quality has been a customer complaint as Extensiv has scaled rapidly post-rebrand.
Small-to-mid 3PL operations (1–10 sites) primarily serving DTC e-commerce brands with high SKU velocity and standard fulfillment workflows.
Not the right fit for large 3PL operations, B2B wholesale-focused 3PLs, or operations needing deep automation integration.
